This lens is complete redesign of Sigmas earlier 105 mm macro lens. It has a much more complex optical formula with a floating focusing system that moves two different lens groups in the optical path to different positions to compensate for astigmatic aberration and spherical aberration. The new version also has a HSM motor with full time manual override and Sigma's optical stabilsation system.

Supplied with lens hood LH680-03 (bayonet).
