The Nikon SB-16 consists of two parts: The flash unit and a flash unit coupler with a mounting foot. The AS-8 coupler has the Nikon proprietary foot used on the F3-series of SLRs, while the AS-9 coupler has a standard ISO foot. The flash is also known as SB-16A (with the AS-8 coupler) and SB-16B (with the AS-9 coupler).

Comes with wide-flash adapter SW-7 (for 24 mm coverage) and soft case SS-16.
