This Nikon pre-CLS flash is for all intents and purposes a generic flash unit when used on any DSLR. Its legacy Nikon OTF TTL-mode is incompatible with CLS, but it will work fine in manual and non-TTL auto mode.
The SB-26 as an unique delay function in slave mode. This makes the flash fire after the lead flash. Some thinks this makes the flash more useful when using this flash for fill, in combination with an auto-controlled flash, as it will not interfere with the auto-controlled flash's metering.
