Rebranded version of Promaster FTD 5700.
This is a modular flash that used to come with dedicated OTF TTL adaptors for various film cameras. These are all incompatible with digital cameras. There was also an adaptor “ST” that makes it a non-dedicated flash. This is the preferred adaptor to have if you want to use this flash on a digital camera.
The non-TTL auto setting is for three apertures f/2, f/4 and f/5.6, but this control is missing from the dedicated TTL adaptors along with a switch to set ISO.
If you have this flash with some dedicated TTL adaptor and you want to use the flash as a manual flash on a digital camera, the “extra” TTL-pins in the hot-foot may confuse the body and in worst case the flash will not fire. In that case, you may try to remove the “extra” TTL-pins from the adaptor hot-foot, leaving only the centre pin and edge connector.
