This flash was introduced in December 2006 specifically for use with the Nikon D40. It has become popular because of its small size and light weight. It allows tilt (horizontal, 60, 75 and 90 degrees) for bounce, but no swivel.
It has no LCD. Varipower settings is via a menu on a compatible camera. This menu is only available on certain cameras released in 2006 and later (e.g. D40, D60 and D90). Flash EV compensation can not be set on the Nikon D3.
This flash can't be used for strobist type wireless flash since all five contacts must be connected to a Nikon body to fire.
Comes with a custom shaped, padded, zippered case SS-400 with a sewn-on, embroidered label.
