Can I use a National PE-3550 hammer head flash gun with a Sony alpha digital camera without damaging it.

One response:

The National PE-3550 has a 32 volt trigger voltage. This means that is should not be connected to the hot-shoe of a Sony alpha, since the hot-shoe is only rated at 24 volts. However, if your Sony has a pc flash sync socket, you should be able to connect it through that. The pc flash sync socket should withstand 32 volts just fine.
