Nikon flash on a Sony camera

Is it possible to use a Nikon Speedlight in the hot-shoe on a Sony A450?

You need to use an adapter

Sony and Minolta cameras use a proprietary hot-shoe so you need to use an adapter to be able to use a flash such as Nikon, Canon, Metz, etc. standard ISO hot-shoe.

YongNuo makes a good one, named YN-H3, that also includes a standard pc-socket.
Search eBay for YongNuo YN-H3.

When using a foreign flash on a Sony camera, it will work just like a generic flash. TTL will not work. If you're using a very old flash, you need to make sure it has a safe trigger voltage.
